2018 Maui Running Race Calendar

Sun, Jan 14th: Maui Oceanfront Marathon/Half/15k/10k/5k: A scenic point-to-point course during whale season from Wailea to Lahaina. Popular race for both locals and visitors alike.
Sat, Feb 10th: Run for the Whales 11.5mi/10k/5k/1 mi walk: An out-and back course for all of the distances and one of the largest fundraising events for the Pacific Whale Foundation.
Sun, Mar 4th: Maui 5k For Kids: All proceeds from the event will be distributed back to the participating public schools to be used to enhance or improve the school’s physical fitness, play and athletic programs. A very family-friendly run and walk.
Sat, Mar 17th: Valley to the Sea Marathon/Half/10k/5k: A downhill course running from Iao Valley to Kihei. Fun, fast and unique opportunity to run across the valley isle.
Sat, May 5th: Na Holo Wahine 5k & 1 Mile Walk: Near Mother’s Day, this women’s only run and walk takes place at Keopuolani Park. Proceeds from the race go to The Maui Farm, a community-based nonprofit organization providing farm-based, family-centered programs teaching life skills for self-sufficient living.
Sat, June 2nd: Kahakuloa Half Marathon and Relay: A point-to-point race starting at Fleming Beach in Kapalua, ending in Kahakuloa. A challenging hilly but beautiful coastal course benefiting the Kahakuloa Congregational Church.
Sat, July 28th: Run Iao 10k: The good news- what goes up, must come down! You’ll earn the downhill on this fun challenging race that starts in Wailuku, heads up to Iao Valley State Park, then right back down.
Sun, Aug 5th: Kraig Vickers Memorial 5k/3k: Held to honor and memory of Maui’s own Kraig M.K. Vickers at Keopuolani Park. Kraig was in the US Navy’s Special Warfare Development Group and was killed in action on August 6, 2011 along with other military members from his team and military support personnel in Afghanistan during combat operations.
Sat, Aug 18th: Adventure Fest Trail 10k, 5k and Keiki 2k: A fun and challenging trail race on the west side where the October XTERRA triathlon world championships and trail running event will take place.
Sat, Sept 8th: Hana Relay: Take the road to Hana by foot as part of a 6 person relay race. The 52-mile course begins near the Kahului Airport, along the Hana Highway, over 56 bridges, past waterfalls and breathtaking views to finish below the Ranch Store in Hana.
Sat, Sept 15th: Run Forest Run Front Street Mile, 5k and 10k: The mile race typically attracts a handful of larger name professional runners who are excited to come to Maui to end their racing season.
Sat, Sept 29th: North Shore Run: A unique race distance of 7.25 miles, this hilly course takes you on a mix of asphalt and dirt roads in Paia on Maui’s north shore. The race is put on by Doris Todd Christian Academy and benefits their scholarship fund. To encourage runners of all abilities, there is also a 4 person relay option.
Sat, Oct 20th: Stomp Out Hunger 5K run/walk and 1 mile run/walk: A flat a fast course in Kihei and great example of a truly low-key, valuable local event. All proceeds will go to Hale Kau Kau, serving hot nutritious meals to the Maui community daily.
Sun, Oct 14th: Maui Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, 10k, 5k and Marathon Team Relay: One of the oldest marathons west of the Rocky Mountains. A distance for everyone so bring the whole family to #runmaui2018!
Sat, Oct 27th: XTERRA Kapalua Trail Runs 10k, 5k, 3.3k and Keiki K: Run the same course as the world championship triathletes run the next day. A fun international event that attracts top level athletes and their support crew.
Sat, Nov 10th: Day of Hope 5k and 10k Run & Walk: A great community event with all proceeds going to the Pacific Cancer Foundation hosted by the Four Seasons in Wailea. A great post run brunch on the beautiful hotel grounds is reason enough to sign up for this event.
Sun, Nov 18th: Sun, Surf and Hoops 5k: Held in conjunction with the Maui Invitational basketball tournament, this is a fun 5k run/walk and kids’ 1 mile run race held in Ka’anapali.
Thurs, Nov 22nd: Turkey Trot 16 & 8 Mile: A Maui Thanksgiving tradition. This unique race format has participates predict their race time before the start. Regardless of who crosses the finish line first, the winners are the top men and women who finish closest to their estimated times- no watches allowed!
Sat, Dec 16th: Christmas 5k, 1 Mile, Kids 800: A fun holiday run in Paia along the bike path. All participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable donation for the Maui Food Bank along with a dish to share for a post-race potluck.
